I have the privilege of working as a polymer scientist with NFW, where I help develop next generation sustainable rubber materials under their MIRUM brand.As a polymer chemist working previously at Danimer Scientific, I had the opportunity to work on the research, development, and patenting of a variety of degradable plastic resins for commodity applications, including but not limited to resins for degradable plastic straws. These plastic straws are currently sold at Starbucks, Walmart, and a variety of other places. The invention had the distinction of winning the 2020 Innovation in Bioplastics Award from the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) Bioplastics Division.
