Develop new water-based and solvent-based resins for the coatings industry focusing on OEM industrial coatings and automotive refinish markets. Expertise includes formulating and scale-up of SB and WB alkyds, acrylic resins, polyesters, acrylic latex, urea-formaldehyde resins, epoxy esters, and several other polymer types. Provide guidance and trouble-shooting assistance to local production. Support global and local procurement activities. Guide national sales force with technical expertise.

Oversee coatings polymer development and scale-up activities. Supervise pilot plant activities. Developed alkyds, polyesters, acrylic latex and urea-formaldehyde resins.

Long-range polymer development mainly on structure-property relationships for polyester resins for coil coatings. These were ultimately used in warranted, exterior finishes for building products and general industrial applications. Also developed novel oligomers for conventional and cationic UV coatings.

Developed coatings systems for coil application. Formulated polyester, vinyl plastisol, and PVDF (Kynar 500) coatings. Also performed color matching both "by eye" and by color computer.
