As a Senior Infrastructure Administrator, I have spent the last two years focused on managing and improving the company's production infrastructure used by 1-in-6 of all students in the United States. In most instances, I independently handled the complete project lifecycle of standing up brand new infrastructure, including research, purchasing, testing, deployment, configuration, documentation, and maintenance. My major projects have been:- Deploying all the database infrastructure required to move the company migration from its monolithic Oracle database to Postgres in our production environment. This included hardware purchasing and standup, system configuration, high-level database management and architecture, user management, stand-up and management of dev/test database infrastructure, and security hardening. I deployed this using an infrastructure-as-code model via Ansible.-Migrating from three-layer network model to a Spine-and-Leaf network architecture (Extreme Networks to Cumulus Networks), including all research, purchasing, planning, design, cutover, and continuing management after go-live.-Providing support for the integration of acquired companies into the IXL IT infrastructure.

As a Senior System Administrator, I was charged with leading our biggest, most logistically complex, and technically challenging projects, often requiring coordination from multiple internal teams within both office and production environments. I deployed and subsequently managed the company's Cloudflare implementation protecting our live website serving millions of daily active users. I worked extensively in AWS to lift targeted services out of our on-prem environments. I migrated the company from locally hosted Exim email servers to G Suite. I also rolled out Slack company-wide, while providing comprehensive orientation and training, and helped establish the company culture to which every employee was expected to adhere. As a System Administrator, I focused on continuing to expand IXL's employee-facing infrastructure, including upgrades to internal tools running on Linux systems, planning and executing email system migrations, standing up VPN systems to enable remote work, conducting a full networking hardware refresh, and deploying a new phone system to facilitate growth to our customer support call center teams.I frequently worked to implement internal tools for other teams, especially Engineering, Sales, Customer Support, Operations, and HR. I took their requirements, researched options, deployed POCs, worked with vendors, handled purchasing, and coordinated go-live and/or cutover to the newly implemented system.
