Eric leads the firm Meng Analysis, providing value engineering, constructability, facility condition, and performance analysis. The variety of this work, and his application of criteria prioritization, cost modeling, risk analysis, and public involvement tools has demonstrated the power of VE as a strong design tool. Eric has led over 1,000 value analysis studies for major infrastructure projects, including highways and bridges, large metropolitan water and environmental systems, transit systems, universities, research facilities, nuclear reactors, airports, and organizational studies for clients such as Westinghouse, the City of New York, Hong Kong, Sound Transit, Port of Seattle, and various state and provincial programs. He has facilitated projects throughout North America, Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Eric founded and has led the firm's design work for most of the Northwest’s leading public institutions, including K-12, universities, transportation, and regional cities and counties. Eric formulated the firm’s consensus design approach that has facilitated several hundred complex design projects. His design work has received national honors from Progressive Architecture, the American Solar Industries Council, and national publications for technological innovation and design excellence. Eric started his design career with a flourish, winning in the firm’s first year the design competition for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Seattle Offices.
