I am a systems designer and engineer in emerging technologies leveraging a broad background in physics, electronic materials, enhanced vision, augmented reality, situational awareness, smart materials, energy harvesting, sustainable/biodegradable electronics and emerging computing architectures. I spent my graduate career and post-doc investigating 1D and 2D electronics including oxides, III-Vs, silicon, polymers and carbon structures followed by a NSF SBIR PostDoc in oxide electronics. I then shifted gears to produce multispectral imagers, novel vision systems and body-worn augmented reality for enhanced situational awareness for 7 years, developing for the DOD and NASA, delivering full wearable prototype systems. Currently, I am with the Future Technologies R&D group at Accenture Labs, leading the Next Gen Computing effort that looks to identify and validate emerging compute methods such as neuromorphic, analog and biology based systems. This work extends to developing sustainable and biodegradable electronics, practical implementations of energy harvesting and advanced manufacturing methods to create sustainable intelligence at the edge.
