CRWN.ai Ltd. is a start-up company rolled out from its sister company TerraSense Analytics in 2022. CRWN uses IoT and AI to provide real-time insight into the condition of transmission systems from anywhere in the world. CRWN generates actionable intelligence to help utilities reduce their maintenance costs and greenhouse gas emissions caused by transmission loss, signaling when there is a need replace and repair components before they fail. The CRWN team recently finished a BC Fast Pilot project in partnership with FortisBC testing the CRWN system on transmission infrastructure through the winter of 2022-2023.In addition, CRWN.AI was selected by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in 2023 to take part in their Incubate Energy pilot program where CRWN was tested on Fortis BC’s transmission infrastructure in southern British Columbia. CRWN’s technology ranked in the top 9 companies out of 183 globally. EPRI is a non-profit global energy research group that supports hundreds of utilities globally.

Latitude 55 is a craft distillery focused on providing finely crafted spirits for Grande Prairie and abroad. All ingredients including grains, botanicals are sourced from the local area. Eric is a founding member and active director of the distillery with four other partners.Recently Latitude 55 moved to the old firehall in downtown Grande Prairie to expand production and open a tasting lounge and eatery.

EA Miller & Associates is small consulting/investment company the retains ownership in a number of businesses Eric Miller founded and developed over the past several years. Current and past companies owned or sold under EA Miller includes TerraSense Analytics, Northern Empire Resources, Latitude 55 Distilleries Ltd, Selkirk Power, and Envolve Energy Services. In addition, Eric Miller has practiced as a Professional Forester and Professional Biologist working as a consultant with several other companies in the Vernon-Kelowna area.

Envolve Energy is an oil and gas service company based in Alberta, whose focus is managing produced water from conventional oil and gas production. Eric is one of the original founders and was part of an executive team that raised 1.5 million in equity to acquire permits for existing well site which helped launch a successful business. In 2015, the Mullen Group acquired a 37.5% of the company as a strategic investor and further progress included purchase of an existing water processing facility and the addition of the permitted well site which increased capacity of the facility to over 1,000 m3/day. He resigned as Vice President and a Director of the company in 2015 but remained a shareholder of the company. In late March 2017, the Mullen Group bought out the founding shareholders of Envolve based on a corporate value of over 20 million.

One of two original founders that established a renewable energy business; served six years as Vice President and Director of the company. Corporate responsibilities included working with an executive team managing the growth strategy, short and long-term corporate planning and tracking, and raising over 3 million in private equity. Professional responsibilities included directing the permitting and engineering processes for three small hydro projects north of Golden, BC with an estimated cap cost of 150 million. Other responsibilities included directing and completing initial feasibility assessments of small hydro and wind sites throughout southern BC and Alberta. Selkirk Power was successful in acquiring an energy purchase agreements through a competitive bid process in 2010 with BC Hydro. Assets of the company later sold for 5 million.

Co-owned an environmental consulting company based in Nelson, BC. Responsible for all aspects of operating the business (including overseeing a staff of eight employees), managing and completing contracts for various agencies, acting as the team lead coordinating teams of professionals to complete various projects throughout the West Kootenay. Projects included environmental assessments, permitting, construction supervision, environmental monitoring and auditing, post construction monitoring, fisheries inventory, fish habitat assessments, fisheries research, fish habitat restoration, water quality assessments, site disturbance research, highway reconstruction, and industrial road rehabilitation.

Contracted to complete various projects including environmental monitoring, stream restoration, and environmental assessments for various projects. Involved in land restoration contracts with the Ministry of Transportation, fish habitat assessments, benthic analysis, and fisheries inventories. Acted as site disturbance expert for Forest Practices Board regarding forest harvest practices and potential impacts on fish habitat. Audited forest harvesting sites for both industry and the Ministry of Forests in the East Kootenay area. Completed and published two research projects involving the investigation of different forest harvest methods and the effects of long term site disturbance on seedling regeneration within the net area to reforest.

Worked on various forest development projects for Slocan Forest Products Ltd. (Slocan Division). Managed operations of forest development throughout Slocan Forest Products Ltd. forest license area. Work included carrying out the analysis of forest stands, micro-sites, plant taxonomy, ecological associations, soil analysis, forest engineering, silviculture prescription preparation (data collection/reports), and site degradation research.
