CurrentI have been working in the mental health field since 1998, and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola College of Maryland. This program strengthened and expanded my abilities in a variety of contexts. These include: issues pertaining to codependency, family dynamics, grief and loss, dual diagnosis and trauma. As my resume indicates, I performed these skills in individual, group, and psycho-educational settings in both inpatient and outpatient treatment modalities.I have worked with adolescents and their families I have also developed curriculum, sanctioned by the State of Maryland, to educate those in need of breaking the cycle of addiction. Additionally, I have facilitated presentations to other mental health clinicians and helped develop a 16 week program for a methadone treatment facility. Although I have a specialization in the addictions field. I have broadened the scope of my practice over the years to applying my counseling skills in other areas as well. These include working with clients with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders (including PTSD), anger management, relationship issues,, etc.I have excellent inter-personal and communication skills, am a creative problem solver, and can work with diverse populations. I am also flexible and can function independently as well as in a team setting. Additionally, I utilize appropriate ethical boundaries with clients and handle confidential information in accordance with professional, ethical, and legal regulations and standards in the mental health field.
