About Eric Misiaszek

I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies from St. John Fisher College in December of 2015. During my time at St. John Fisher, I was a recipient of the First Generation Scholarship and was elected Class President of the program. As part of the program, I mentored students in poverty ranging from preschool to 12th grade providing assistance with schoolwork and homework, while empowering students to continue their path to higher education. I also tutored students of refugee program on translation and basic reading skills. During my senior year, I interned for Judge Minarik at the New York State Supreme Court. I developed a further understanding of law by performing legal research and summarizing motions to submit to specific court cases. After receiving my bachelors degree, I enrolled at Arizona State University to pursue my Masters of Public Administration Degree. I have long-held interests in the workings of our government, beginning when I first volunteered for local campaigns in high school. While I was pursuing my Masters Degree, I worked as a MCLEAPS intern for the Maricopa County Air Quality Department. I worked directly under the government liaison to help build positive relationships with other government agencies and community members. I also led a project within the department focused on identifying trees that are most suitable for the environment and Maricopa County . I have worked with numerous agencies across the Phoenix-metropolitan area to come up with a spreadsheet that will serve as a guide for the public.I then took a position with Maricopa County Planning and Development where I facilitated continuous improvement kaizen within customer service unit to improve efficiency and quality of service for internal and external customers, as part of county-wide process improvement initiative. I collected and analyzed past performance data to come up with recommendations for the Department. I currently work for Cortland County Department of Social Services. I have worked in both Foster Care Preventive, and Child Protective Services. I work directly with families and children who are facing extreme hardships. I collaborate with community resources around the state to help navigate families through their hardships. Currently I work for Cortland County Department of Social Services. My
