Eric was born in Neirivue, Switzerland. He received the B.E. degree in electronic engineering from the Fribourg Technicum, in 1983. He worked 10 years for different international companies (Ericsson, Nokia, Digital Equipment Corporation) as software support engineer involved mainly in network projects for the bank segment. In 1993, he joined the Swiss government and worked for the Swiss Federal Department of Home Affairs. He was responsible for a major IT transformation project (IT centralization at Department level).Eric has a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the IDHEAP (University of Lausanne, Switzerland, 2000) as well as an Executive Master of Business Administration (eMBA) from the “Haute Ecole de gestion” of Fribourg, Switzerland, 2005. He is ITIL and PMP certified. Before joining Alcon in Switzerland in 2008, he spent 3 years as an IT consultant in the US (Georgia & South Carolina) working for the University of Columbia and BlueCross BlueShield, a major health insurance company in US. He joined Alcon as Manager of the Engineering and Application support team for the EMEA Region. After a successful rebuild of the team, Eric was given the opportunity to deepen his business knowledge by joining Alcon France as Head of IT. Since beginning of 2015, he is working for Novartis Business Services as Head of ERP IT Business Partner Region Europe.

Worked closely with the Federal Office of Public Health (part of FDHA) to develop interfaces with Health Insurance companies for statistical and controlling purposes.
