Eric Mozie is the Director of Human Resources and a strategic Human Capital partner at the United States International Trade Commission. In this role, he is responsible for leveraging human capital to improve USITC performance and workforce effectiveness. He is directly responsible for implementing and integrating strategies and systems designed to increase workplace productivity by establishing improved processes for attracting, developing, retaining and utilizing people with the required skills and aptitude to meet current and future USITC mission needs. Mr. Mozie also serves as a strategic partner with senior leadership and operational teams to ensure transparency and efficacy in policies and procedures around talent management and professional development. Additional duties include:Architects a talent management system and identifies strategies that are planned and implemented in alignment with USITC’s current and future business goals and strategic direction; forecasts leadership capacity and capability gaps which helps define the scope and breadth of USITC’s talent management efforts; identifies talent and leadership development trends and challenges at the enterprise level and develops strategic and tactical initiatives to address such challenges; in conjunction with the Office of Equal Opportunity, provides strategic and operational leadership for diversity and inclusion initiatives, including developing a philosophy and strategy to help attract and retain a diverse workforce; builds a program that recruits talented people early in their careers through college recruiting, internships and other programs; develops them with strong training programs and career opportunities; and motivates them to stay with USITC by providing ongoing mentorship, leadership development programs and an achievable career path; and identifies and deploys strategies to engage employees driving satisfaction, loyalty and retention.
