I've always loved interacting with people. Real people. I suppose that's the big reason why I've spent 17 years of my professional life dedicated to the commercial and residential flooring business. I started my journey in an inside sales for person for a flooring distributor after a brief stint in restaurant management. The variety of people I interacted with when I started in flooring along with the desire to meet and exceed their needs piqued my interest and has led me into my current career.It's been a fun journey working my way up from that inside sales position to an outside sales position, and then to management roll before taking my current job as a District Manager. I have worked with a great many people that have taught me a lot about business, people, ethics, and life in general for which I am forever grateful. There have been a lot of lessons along the way.My desire to see how other people accomplish the same tasks and live in other walks of life has always fascinated me. I've always tried to be my harshest critic and to look at my thoughts and actions from an outside perspective. Observing and being curious about other people in the world has taught me to consider how other people think and feel about something I may be saying or doing and also how they can interpret things differently based on their experiences or the way they've been raised. This has probably been the most valuable and most important lesson I've learned in business and in life.My role as a District Manager for a commercial flooring manufacturer is only possibly because of the culmination of these experiences and my desire to always learn and and improve. The opportunity to work with the major Architect and Design Firms and commercial flooring dealers in the Oregon and SW Washington areas is an adventure that brings new challenges everyday. The variety of work, types of projects I work on, and the company I represent all add up to some great experiences that allows me to genuinely help and educate people in a variety of ways. I love what I do, and I look forward to each day and the challenges the I will face. Finding solutions for people that feel like a large group of friends doesn't feel like work most days.
