My career in procurement, Logistics, Contracts Management/administration and supply chain management started in 1993 within a high profile international long-term project in Tanzania as supplies officer in charge of supplies section and was responsible for procurement of goods, services and works. The project was in cooperation with IDA, GTZ, Government of Tanzania (GoT). Throughout my 20 plus years of experience, I have had opportunities to hold junior as well as senior positions in supply chain departments where I have managed all logistics functions (materials management + physical distribution management). I have been able to establish entire supply chain sections/departments/units, report formats, SOPs, warehouse management systems like inventory control and managed hundreds of local and international staff especially in the refugee camps and UN Mission in Liberia. Further, throughout my career, I have provided training to junior and local staff members, organized seminars/workshops to local business communities on how to do business with international organizations like the UN. Also, I have proven excellence in analysis of financial bids for technically qualified bidders, preparation of cost and price analyses, risk analyses, bid analysis summaries, and provision of recommendations for contracts awards. I am experienced and qualified to undertake jobs and assignments in multicultural and dynamic environments. I am stress resilient with high adaptability and strong interpersonal skills. I am fluent in English and Kiswahili and have relevant professional experience in the EAC countries, specifically Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, as well as good understanding of procurement procedures in the ECOWAS by being involved in first-hand procurement in Liberia for 6 years.
