I researched, developed, and presented multiple live programs to a wide variety of audiences. These presentations included several live animal shows, planetarium shows, a Science Magic presentation, and a lightning show in the museum’s Theater of Electricity. I also developed and carried out a Fellow Project, engaging museum guests in one-on-one hands-on.

As a School Program Presenter, I implemented and lead inquiry-based scientific programming to groups of students ranging in age from preschool through high school. I mainly worked in the Alden Planetarium, although I also participated in programs in classroom, outdoor, museum, and other settings.

Performed education and public outreach in the general area of NASA Space Science with emphasis on specific missions and astronomy. Designed and gave presentations to groups at North Dakota libraries and schools on NASA Space Science, the Space Shuttle, the night sky, the solar system, astronomy, and other topics.

Grand Forks, North Dakota Area

Conducted Graduate Research Assistant duties including maintenance and upkeep of observatory and telescope operation. Executed overnight observing runs involving opening and setting up multiple telescopes, coordinating with observers online, monitoring telescope performance throughout the night, and securing the telescopes at the end of the observing run.

Maintained, improved, and ran existing computer models relating to financial loss resulting from natural disasters. Wrote original computer programs and used existing programs for post-processing of model results. Wrote original computer programs in support of existing loss models, such as optimizing distribution of response units in fire model. Performed.
