Responsible for the delivery of all levels of trail development technical assistance in the Midwest region, including managing technical assistance contracts, products and services. Assists local com¬munities with trail planning and development through a variety of strategies, including: research, preparation and dissemination of resource materials such as fact sheets and studies; organizing and conducting public meetings and workshops and developing local trail advocacy networks; educating and training regional constituents; preparing planning documents and performing project consulting work; and assisting regional and national staff in developing grants and contracts to fund in-depth technical assistance. Plans for, deploys and maintained equipment and creates reports for automated trail counts around the region.Presentations/Publications:Successful Strategies for Trail Development (West Virginia Trails Conference, 2008); Rails-With-Trails: Strategies and Pitfalls (Mid- American Trails And Greenways Conference, 2009); Co-author of feasibility study for Atlantic Seaboard Coastline Rail-Trail (North Carolina 2009); Trail User Count Methodology (Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference, 2010); Author of Broadway/Slavic Village Community Assessment (Cleveland, OH, 2010); Co-Presenter Urban Pathways Initiative (National Trails Conference, 2010).

Performed all aspects of trail system development, from concept plan, to surveying, to construction and maintenance. Designed and built trails in non-motorized wilderness areas. Constructed multi-use paths using both hand tools and heavy equipment. Built numerous projects from staircases to retaining walls and drainage structures using dry stone masonry infrastructure. Man¬aged and built multiple bridge projects, including surveying, construction and pouring of abutments. Performed woodworking projects using advanced joinery skills on natural logs. Digitized entire trail system into GIS. Developed safety training and certification program for trail staff.
