I have been with XL since January 2004 and am currently the IT Service Manager for the Central US XL offices as well as XL GAPS teleworkers. My team, Global Technology Services (GTS) Service Management, is a colleague facing organization with the global responsibility for developing and coordinating the delivery of IT services across all geographies and business lines. GTS Service Managers are located in the major XL regions and interface with our colleagues and service partners to coordinate IT service related matters. As a result of the global coverage the Service Management team is a available 24x7x365.The team's mission is to facilitate and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of all IT services to all colleagues across geographies. A Service Manager is responsible for managing and improving service outcomes, identifying opportunities and leading change to improve the colleague and business experience. The Service Manager is an active participant in driving service and process improvements and measuring service outcomes as a determination of success. The Service manager is process-focused and solution driven, with the skills and experience required to navigate the complexities of a federated service delivery environment. The global team of Service Managers maintains local relationships with all offices, business units, and segments, understands the local needs and knows the local environment and infrastructure. The Service Management team negotiates services and service improvements with resolver teams and resolves roadblocks to optimize the portfolio of GTS services.
