I enjoy turning ideas into functional web applications. I am currently an aspiring software developer studying at Coding Dojo with the focus of gaining full stack application skills and becoming proficient with Python. Of course this wasn't always what my passion or plans. As we all do, as I grew older and matured things have changed. At 18 I wanted to get out of my small town and see the world, so I spent the next 6 years being a Combat Engineer in the US Army. Where I obtained the rank of Sergeant and had a year long deployment in Afghanistan. Also getting stationed in Germany at 18 I did not take full advantaged of the easy travel opportunities that Europe, has to offer but did see Austria and Italy while there.At 24 I was ready to get a job which would allow me to spend more time with my amazing wife. I had been married for 2 years at this point and felt like I rarely saw my wife due to my job and her finishing college. So, I returned to my small town and got a factory job, working at True Manufacturing in Mexico, MO. After a while the grind of doing the same thing every day was getting old so I knew I needed a change. At 27 I decided to go into Law Enforcement. Everyday would defiantly be different. The downside to leaving the predictable factory job for law enforcement was you would have days in law enforcement where there was almost nothing to do and days where you had to skip lunch because the calls for service didn't stop. Also the odd hours where taking a tole on my personal life.At 30 I returned to True Manufacturing (where I remain today). The predictable hours allowed me to spend some much needed time with my wife and have less stress.Today I am the proud father of a son. I have acquired a lot of wear and tear on my body with the types of physically demanding work I have done. I wanted to make a change that would be less demanding on my body so I can be there to play, help, and grow my son into an adult. So, I started to explore roles that would be less physically intensive. I was told about software development by a friend and after venturing deep into the rabbit hole of YouTube videos I made the plunge myself to work towards that goal
