My first career, working in-house as a software and systems developer for a special event company. In addition to website design, I wrote all the internal software and database design including contracts, production, scheduling, payroll, accounting, website design, etc. I managed staff and even worked as a DJ for thousands of events including weddings, corporate and private parties and Hollywood-related premieres, etc.

I covered the Los Angeles Lakers (with some occasional coverage of the LA Clippers) for both print and online publications. My role included interviewing players, coaches and executives while covering games, practices, shootarounds, the draft, All-Star Game and NBA Finals. Additionally, I supported the LA Times' staff covering the NBA staff with salary cap support.

My first job covering the NBA initially focused on the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, but also all 30 teams. I maintained in-depth team pages including sourced, accurate salary data, pick obligations, team exception tracking, etc. I won two PBWA awards for pieces written for HOOPSWORLD's companion publication "Swish Magazine."
