I am a professional geospatial and remote sensing analyst and have been working in the GIS field for 16 years. At Algonquin College, I prepare tutorials to assist students in the Military GIS Program. I have and continue to develop courses using open source GIS software for online teaching in cooperation with GoGeomatics Canada. Some examples of my recent creative analytical work include:• Assessment of the vulnerability of the City of Ottawa to extreme weather events related to Global Warming;• Damage Analysis: the Kilis, Turkey 2023 Earthquake, and land subsidence caused by the collapse of mining tunnels; and• The use of LiDAR point file datasets to analyze sea level changes due to Global Warming which will cause major disruptions, for example, in food production, increased migration, conflicts etc.
