I'm a chemical ecologist, statistician, data scientist, and R package developer with a passion for teaching science, statistics, and practices for reproducible research. In my PhD I collaborated with analytical chemists, economists, and anthropologists to understand the impacts of climate change on tea quality. In my postdoc I'm collaborating with ecologists, conservation biologists, and climate scientists to model and project the impacts of climate change and habitat fragmentation on population dynamics of rainforest plants. I have experience teaching and developing curriculum as instructor of record at a variety of institutions. I'm the author and maintainer of the R packages bumbl and holodeck, and my extensive contributions to the development of the webchem package were funded by an R Consortium grant.

Postdoctoral ResearcherUniversity Of Florida Jun 2020 - Jun 2022Medford, Massachusetts, United StatesModeling impacts of habitat fragmentation and drought on the vital rates (e.g. growth, survival, reproduction) and population dynamics of an understory Amazon herb, Heliconia acuminata. Applying generalized additive models, distributed lag non-linear models, and integral projection models. Forecasting population dynamics using CMIP6 (coupled model intercomparison project) model outputs under different climate change scenarios. -
Graduate Student ResearcherTufts University Sep 2014 - May 2020Medford, MaI worked in the Orians lab as part of a collaborative project to better understand the effects of climate change on tea from a biological, chemical, sensory, and economic perspective. My work primarily investigates the effects of insect herbivory on tea chemistry and quality and the effects of interactions between insects and abiotic effects such as drought. -

Wetland Research AssociateColorado Natural Heritage Program Jul 2010 - Nov 2010Followed established protocols to assess wetland quality at target sites in the North Platte river basin and the Rio Grande river basin. Utilized knowledge of botany and Colorado plants to identify all vegetation at target sites. Described soils and assessed soil for indicators of wetland hydrology. Hiked up to 9 km with gear to reach remote wetlands.
