About Eric Rapkin

Eric D. Rapkin serves as Chair of Akerman LLP’s Real Estate Practice Group, one of the nation’s top-ranked real estate legal teams. Akerman is a national law firm with more than 700 attorneys and government affairs professionals (www.akerman.com). He has a general commercial real estate practice, including leasing, financing, acquisition, and disposition of office buildings, industrial properties, shopping centers, and hotels for developers, retailers, and institutions, with a strong concentration in major commercial leasing transactions. Eric received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C., in May 1986, where he was a Lead Articles Editor for The Tax Lawyer Law Review. He received his B.A. in April 1983 from University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the Florida Bar Association, NAIOP (2010 President, South Florida Chapter) and ICSC (Florida State Director and U.S. Law Conference Committee Member), and is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
