I’ve spent my career solving highly technical, multidisciplinary, systems problems that unlock huge markets with meaningful impact on the world. I’m a mechanical engineer with an MBA, so I often find myself at the intersection of novel technologies and interesting businesses. I started out as a very early employee at SpaceX, working on the propulsion team and helping to design the Merlin engine that is still in use today. After going to business school at Stanford, I started a concentrating photovoltaic solar technology company, GreenVolts. I helped the company raise over $120M and build a dozen solar power plants.I then started a virtual reality software company called AltspaceVR. I wrote the prototype code myself, raised $20M and sold the company to Microsoft, where it remains in use today as Microsoft’s metaverse product. I went to Facebook/Meta and was the founding PM lead for Horizon, their flagship Metaverse product.
