· Serve as in-house sales and use tax expert.· Prepare and file the monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.· Obtain, update, and maintain tax exemption certificates from wholesale customer. · Prepare and file annual reports and registrations for various jurisdictions.· Maintain transaction tax accounts, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.· Manage sales tax audits and requests from various jurisdictions· Research and understand technical state and local regulations to ensure compliance · Respond to notices from the various taxing jurisdiction.· Assist with income tax quarterly and annual filings.· Personal Property Return preparation and payment in all fifty States

• Perform tax research and educate taxpayers on proper compliance related to Florida tax statutes and U.S. federal, state and foreign income tax.• Audit independently or as a team all necessary records of Fortune 500 and specialized industries which are headquartered in the Midwest and have property, payroll and sales in Florida thereby creating nexus for Florida Corporate Income Tax to determine compliance with Florida Tax Statutes.• Educate taxpayers on proper compliance and preparation of quarterly and year-end tax provisions in accordance with U.S. GAAP/ASC 740 and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404• Examines and analyzes both electronically and physically at a taxpayer's location, accounting systems which are unique or peculiar to certain industries for clues to additional liabilities or possible tax evasion, to assist taxpayer's management in the proper administration of Florida Tax Statutes, and to verify refunds in the case of tax over payments.• Perform risk assessments and test of internal controls in order to design audit procedures, create audit plan and test the integrity of the supporting documentation.• Prepares and submits standard audit reports which disclose the scope and audit findings and includes proposed adjustments to income and tax liabilities.

• State and Local tax compliance using advanced Microsoft Excel functions, Access and Vertex and work within designated team area to prepare to ensure proper client setup within payroll & tax system, preparation and filing of accurate and timely client tax returns, submission of bank files and payments, research and resolution of issues, and account reconcilement, as assigned.• Manage the gap between tax team operations and adjacent operations by performing review and control tasks that will result in high-quality information exchange between the groups.• Utilize procedures, processes and methods that will have the greatest impact on efficiency and productivity.

• Prepare monthly financial reports and ad hoc reports for management using Microsoft Access and Excel for decision making.• Perform standard monthly consolidating entries, including inter-company profit eliminating entries, intercompany reconciliations, goodwill revaluation, etc.• Process monthly accruals, monthly journal entries and attend monthly operations meeting to discuss key cost centers and perform variance analysis.
