I co-taught five periods of English/Langauge Arts to high school freshmen and juniors.I was responsible for developing lesson plans, teaching lessons, assessing student work, and using those assessments to determine future lesson plans and teaching strategies. I was responsible for determining and meeting the unique educational experience of roughly eighty students. Ultimately, I was the bridge connecting curricular aims and requirements to the student in fun and meaningful ways. I facilitated two iterations of the University Press' annual Novella Prize by managing all (300+) submissions, and assisting in all stages of the editorial process undergone by the winner. Upon receiving submissions through Submittable.com, I would distribute those submissions to the reading staff, record first-round scores, and pass along all finalists to the Final Judge. Once the Final Judge selected his or her winning manuscript, I become an editorial assistant, observing and participating in developmental and final editing stages. I was a final proofreaders before the book goes to print.I worked on the 2016 and 2017 Prize-winning novellas: THAT NIGHT ALIVE by Tara Deal and DAY OF ALL SAINTS by Patricia King.

Conducted one-on-one writing consultations with undergraduate and graduate students at Miami University. I work with everything from analytic essays to science reports to resumes and cover letters.

Developed acceptance criteria, lead reading meetings with the reading staff to decide which submissions to accept, edited all accepted fiction and poetry (working one-on-one with accepted contributors to do so) for two volumes of Miami University's undergraduate literary magazine. I also developed and implemented the training process of future Fiction & Poetry Editors.
