Decorated FBI official (Ret.) with more than 25 years of national security, law enforcement, and management experience.Currently serving in the Office of Research Compliance and Integrity at the University of California San Diego as the Insider Threat Program Senior Official and FSO, where I provide management, accountability, and oversight for the university’s participation in the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). Responsibilities include export compliance and research security.FBI Career:While serving in an FBI executive management role, I provided leadership for more than 250 direct and indirect reports, oversaw a multi million-dollar operating budget, and maintained accountability for all national security, criminal and administrative programs in the FBI's Western Pacific/South-East Asia Region. This responsibility included oversight of the counterterrorism, counterintelligence, cybercrime, aviation, and surveillance programs, as well as the Joint Terrorism Task Force. Results achieved in this leadership role were recognized with awards and commendation from the Director of the FBI. I supervised classified espionage and counterintelligence investigations that resulted in the prevention of over $300M in losses to DoD programs and contracts, and averted further compromise to a $50B national security program.Successes achieved during overseas FBI assignments in Pakistan, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong resulted in FBI and DoD commendations as well as Joint Duty Certification awarded to me by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).Recipient of 28 meritorious service awards and commendations from the FBI, CIA, DoD, and other U.S. Intelligence Community organizations.Recipient of the Governor of The Year Award for 2022, presented by the California Association of Licensed Investigators, the world’s largest association of licensed investigators.
