• Summary – My role in the BI team at LEGO was centered around data, technology and architecture. As one of two technical members on the team, I was a key player in helping shape the transition from Excel-based reporting to modern toolsets. As we championed new technology in the org and to other global BI teams, I gained exposure to many different areas of the business to help build solutions that had real, actionable impact.• Application Development – Built internal applications for desktop and mobile devices using PowerApps. These ranged from data validation and enrichment apps serving a few people, to merchandising assistant apps that were rolled out to 120+ people in the field and eventually picked up for global implementation.• Data Warehousing – Designed & built the BI reporting warehouse to support US, CA, MX and LATAM regions. Created data marts to help serve each functional area’s reporting needs and business app data storage. The mix of different types of data (internal systems, external, unstructured, etc.) required a range of techniques from star schemas to 3NF, SQL queries and stored procedures.• Dashboard Development – Using Tableau & Power BI, created reporting solutions to support sales, marketing, merchandising and eCom teams. These covered standard drill-down type dashboards, as well as interactive geographic / demographic analysis using GIS shapefiles and A/B event comparison reports.• Data Transformation – Created ELT / ETL flows & monitoring process to the data warehouse using a combination of Alteryx & SQL. Leveraged the warehouse, Alteryx & SQL to also create the reporting models that would be published to Tableau / Power BI.• Other – Core member of the Tableau Task Force to promote best practices for training and deployment across the org. SME for Alteryx development, assisting developers in Supply Chain to build out their data warehouse, transformation processes & dashboards. Used RPA tools to pull reports from customer portals.

• Summary – My role in the BI team at MassMutual was an exciting one, joining a tiny start-up team to tie together 5 separate retirement platforms – a goal that hadn’t materialized after a much larger corporate initiative. I was still fairly new to database development, but with a focused goal and great team we made it happen. The foundation that we built with 2 developers, 3 analysts and our charismatic leader would continue to evolve and grow along with the size of the team which still exists today.• Data Warehousing – Designed & built the BI reporting warehouse to tie together the 5 retirement platforms that covered the MM business. Built out using a combination of star schema and 3NF for translation and business logic. Created queries and stored procedures for driving reports and applications.• Data Transformation – Created ETL flows for the data warehouse using a combination of Alteryx & SQL. Leveraged the database using Alteryx & SQL to also create the reporting models that would be published to Tableau, working closely with our Tableau developer on data needs. Utilized fuzzy matching for householding accounts across systems.• Application Development – Used MS Access Forms as a front-end for other groups to connect to our SQL Server queries and pull data as well as push updates to the database.• Other – Presented to executive leadership and other teams within retirement services on our BI warehouse work as well as the tools we were using, championing how they could help other areas go beyond Excel.

• Summary – My role on the investments team at MassMutual was where I gained my first experience in database development and concepts. Trained by a senior teammate on the principles of primary keys and creating MS Access Forms, I took this knowledge and ran with it. Our work on this team later led to us becoming the main database developers on the BI team.• Data Warehousing – Assisted in development of investments database built on SQL Server, learning core database concepts and methodologies. Created reporting / marketing materials from Weekly Market Overviews to quarterly platform reporting.
