As an Engineering Manager, I have been responsible for system design, specification development, and contract administration of equipment procurements for various type projects related to Electric Utility Power Plants, air quality control, and ash disposal. Power plant experience includes combined cycle, simple cycle, coal fired thermal, oil fired thermal, diesel generators, and power plant retrofit projects. Air quality projects include Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD), limestone grinding, gypsum handling, fly ash conversion, and dewatering facilities. This included design, engineering, and technical procurement along with developing schedules and manhour budgets to execute these projects. Engineering aspects include supervising and overseeing conceptual system engineering development, detailed engineering calculations, piping and instrument diagrams and line list development, and equipment sizing. Technical procurement included supervising and overseeing development, review and approval of all mechanical technical sections applicable to specific equipment, commodity, and construction procurements. Assembly and review of all technical sections (non-mechanical) applicable to specific equipment, commodities, construction procurements, bid evaluations, award recommendations, technical contract administration after award such as supporting expediting efforts, submittals review, and expediting delivery.I also served six years in the United States Naval Nuclear Power Program. This time included one year of classroom training, six months of operational training, and four years of operational experience, including one and a half years of plant supervisor experience on a pressurized water reactor. My experience includes two shipyard maintenance periods. I also served as the Machinery Division Supervisor, an engineering department maintenance coordinator, and a quality assurance inspector.
