Lead Demand Planner for EMC Isilon. Leverage Salesforce.com quote data, revenue targets from Finance and Sales, ASP projections, product family mix assumptions, product roadmap considerations, historical trends, seasonality, and other key factors. Responsible for high level forecasting, as well as forecasting detailed configurations/SKU’s to drive the correct mix of materials to support customer orders. Interact directly with CM’s, and work closely with EMC Isilon manufacturing and order management teams.Created and implemented a bottoms-up model that calculates and reports on actual and projected COGS, down to the component level. This model is now the source of COGS reporting for the company, and matches the tops-down reporting to within 1%. It reduced a process that took 2 weeks down to 2 days.Developed and implemented a model to project "BuyDown" expense for the company--which is essentially the cost of re-valuing component inventory at the end of the quarter. The projections from this model are on average over 85% accurate, and give management valuable insight into an expense they did not previously have any forecast for.Created a model to provide component level forecasts, which capture requirements from the entire BOM for all forecasted SKUs. These forecasts are leveraged by Commodity Managers to gain insight into future demand, and influence their negotiations.Worked closely with my manager to identify reports key to running the Supply Chain, designed specific templates for 8 reports, and then partnered with CM's to have them adopt and provide the 8 reports on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis depending on the report. This provides a window into the Supply Chain that did not exist before.Mapped out a vision for the design of the team's data and reporting architecture, which includes the aforementioned CM reporting templates, Access databases, various reports, metrics, and models.
