Opened the North American office of RollDock Shipping B.V., a Dutch owned,Rotterdam based Heavy Transport ship owner/operator. RollDock operatesa new fleet of very specialized semi-submersible vessels which serve the oversized and heavy piece weight project cargo market. Was responsible for all commercial and operational matters with prospective clients as well as formation of the US company and all company management duties.

Negotiated contracts for the ocean transportation of bulk raw and calcinedpetcoke to and from the GLC calcining plants in South America and theUnited States. Also negotiated barge and rail transport contracts as well asmaintenance contracts for the company's owned/leased railcar fleet. Companywas purchased by Oxbow in 2007.

Chartering Manager for Beluga Shipping, an expansion of BelugaChartering GMBH, a German based ship owning company which is part of the Beluga Group of companies. Responsible for the successful chartering and brokerage of Beluga's fleet of modern heavy lift multipurpose ships.

Lead the global operations department for North American offices of Argosy Shipping, general agents and exclusive brokers for BBC Chartering & Logistics, a German company that operates over 95 multipurpose ships worldwide during this period. Was solely responsible for start up and implementation of the agency division of Argosy. Also single handedly headed and managed the ARCOS I fiber optic cable laying project for Siemens / NSW. Was in charge of operations for cable laying vessels and heavy lift support vessels for the ARCOS project in 16 countries. Created an international agency organization, which answered to me. Expanded the activities of Argosy to include inland heavy haul trucking, barging and rail transportation.

Provided cargo superintendent services for ships and barges loading and discharging general cargoes. Was responsible for planning stowage, ordering and supervising stevedores, purchasing of dunnage and lashing materials, liaise with Master and crew for smooth port operations, coordinating and supervising inland transportation of cargo to both load port and final place of rest after discharge from vessel, technical inspections and surveys of cargo, preparing reports, etc. Traveled worldwide.

An American owned company that operated, owned and time chartered multipurpose type ships in worldwide trade and specialized in project cargoes. Was responsible for numerous operational duties such as appointing agents and stevedores in all countries, monitoring foreign and domestic port expenses, arranging transfer of funds, tracking vessel performance, managing problems associated with the ships under my direction and attending vessels at US and foreign ports when necessary.

Served as operations coordinator for import and export of laden and empty ISO tank containers. Was responsible for arranging intermodal transportation for such customers as Exxon, Shell and Dow.

Served as agent for various US and foreign vessel owners and charterers. Responsibilities included estimating port call expenses and clearing vessels with federal authorities such as US Customs, Immigrations, Coast Guard and Agriculture. Arranged pilots, tugs, line handlers, stevedores, bunkers, provisions, repairs, inspections, transportation, medical attention, import and export documentation, etc.

Served as owner's protective agent for primarily Greek owned and operated bulk carriers loading grain cargoes on the Mississippi River. Responsibilities similar to the previously described position.

Served as mate and second Captain on board the seismic research vessel "LONE STAR" which was owned and operated by Rice University.

Began as deckhand/mechanic then quickly advanced to Captain upon receiving USCG license to operate passenger-carrying vessels. Operated research vessels up to 100 gross tons both inland and offshore up to 200 miles.
