I was the high school kid who said he was getting out of Janesville, Wisconsin, and never coming back. Two decades later, I'm proud to call Janesville home and am trying to play any small role I can in making sure the next generation feels the same way.It's taken an enormous amount of collaboration to turn this community into what it is today. I've spent the past 20+ years telling stories.I spent many years delivering stories to sports fans. About a Division I college basketball team trying to make the NCAA Tournament. Or a bull rider hoping an 8-second ride could keep him out on the road living the western sports dream instead of returning home with an empty wallet. Or high schoolers navigating their way through sports and life during a pandemic.More recently, my corporate communications and marketing experience involved translating the highly technical work of nuclear fusion scientists, engineers, chemists and visionaries working on: diagnosing, treating, and someday maybe even curing cancers; recycling nuclear waste; and delivering nuclear fusion power that is clean, abundant, and affordable to the world. Along the way, it was humbling to be recognized with 10 first-place awards from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association and as two-time Wyoming Sportswriter of the Year.To me, the best feeling is when I know I've delivered a story that might otherwise never have been told.
