About Eric Schuh
I have over 13years experience as a practitioner in environmental land use planning. With the listing of Chinook salmon under the Endangered Species Act, I was responsible to write Dairy Nutrient Management Plans, bringing dairy farms into compliance with the Clean Water Act.In helping dairy farmers comply with the Dairy Nutrient Management Act, my tact and diplomacy earned the dairy farmer’s trust and cooperation. I assisted the Snohomish Conservation District in meeting the 2002 state deadline to have Approved Dairy Plans for all dairy farms in the county. Once this goal was met, I transitioned to working with small farm owners in Snohomish and Island County to provide technical assistance on agricultural best management practices. At the Snohomish Conservation District I gained leadership, administrative, organizational, and political experience. I understand and respect the importance of good communication skills in working with the public about issues that they feel strongly about- their personal property. I am familiar in maneuvering through governmental processes. I am an experienced grant writer and contract manager. While working at the Snohomish Conservation District I actively managed grants in excess of $250,000. Writing and managing these grants required attention to detail and demonstrates my ability to be articulate in both written and oral communication. Furthermore, I am experienced in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and proficient with GIS and GPS technology. I was previously employed with Sakata Seed America, Inc. as a Field Agronomist and have experience executing seed production plans for both cabbage and spinach seed crops. I was responsible for executing and contracting our spinach program with area growers. I was also responsible for the day to day activities at the site including managing the budget, maintaining equipment, and have an active role in our company’s environmental, safety, and health program.
Listed skills include Research, Agronomy, Agriculture, Environmental Awareness, and 16 others.
