CurrentThe Office of Academic Programs works with faculty and administrators from UIC's 16 colleges in the curriculum approval process at all levels of governance within the university and the state. This includes reviewing and providing feedback on proposals, advising programs on academic policies and proposal development, and managing underlying systems in relation to course approval and program coding. Additionally, I have facilitating roles with the Senate Committee on Educational Policy and the General Education Council, in concert with the director. The office also coordinates the process of reporting curriculum changes to the Higher Learning Commission, and I was involved in the planning and writing process in relation to the university's 2024 HLC site visit. Additionally, I am tapped within the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Programs and Effectiveness to participate in a range of writing, editing, and project management tasks, including in relation to accreditation processes, institutional reports, national awards, and other ways of representing the university.

The Office of Project Management for Student Success Initiatives at this time was situated within the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs and Academic Programs. Functionally, I was also part of the staff of the Office for Research on Student Success within the OVPUAAP. The OPMSSI exists to facilitate collaborative projects that bring together colleagues from across different areas of the university to implement student success initiatives. These initiatives emerge from ongoing research within the ORSS in relation to student retention, graduation, and academic progress. The position allowed me to work with administrators, staff, and faculty across units and departments, while helping to ensure effective communication, planning, organization, assessment, and accountability.
