what is solar-song?I am a freelance engineering consultant specializing in the planset development of utility scale solar farms. working primarily as a contractor for Brucke Engineering, I have personally designed over 250 MW of installed capacity while providing engineering oversight for another 500+ MW. I also am a songwriter and philosopher, and a player in the grand shell game. I also offer consulting services for event planning and management, specifically concert related events, primarily for non-profits. I also am able to travel for any of the above, or other work that I find interesting. I'm not tied to a desk. I think outside the box. I work well in teams, or alone. I'm also a pretty nice guy.

team lead to redesign the company planset template, including new details and an automated excel database providing instant calculations and an auto bill-of-materials. principle designer of 100 MW+, specialized in new construction detail development in AutoCAD, designed and developed new parts for construction as requested, developed the cable-tray model of above ground PV conductor routing. authored a NC workforce development grant providing NABCEP training for field workers in the commissioning and O&M departments.

assisted with the design and drawing of plansets for 100+ MW while also working on special projects to increase the efficiency, safety, and economy of construction.

assisted in the establishment of the official operations maintenance program including: developing yearly and 5 year maintenance schedules, coordinating warranty repairs, scheduling routine and emergency technical service calls, providing high level support for field technicians, developing training programs and initiatives, integrating a preliminary inventory management system, developing field work SOPs, and managing a portfolio of over 200 MW of installed solar with new farms going online weekly throughout the job tenure.

assisted in the design and integration of a wifi + cell modem communications and das systems for 5MW farms across North Carolina. supervised multiple crews in the installation of 15+ systems, assisted other crews in various stages of other installs, and by doing so helped begin the early development of Strata's operations and maintenance program.

led crews in racking, glass, and underground. assisted with commissioning activities.

Designed and coordinated the installation of commercial audio systems for music deliver. Clients included Chipotle, Old Navy, Sleepy's, Rack Room Shoes, Bed Bath and Beyond, and many more.

Student manager of the Mosaic Labs, the integrated Unix/Windows computer lab network that supported the William States Lee College of Engineering. Duties included staffing, tutorial design and instruction, rebuilding user accounts, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
