Eric joined Allison Transmission, Inc. (Allison), as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in 2007. Allison, a $2.7B global business headquartered in Indianapolis for over 100 years, is the world’s largest designer and manufacturer of medium and heavy duty automatic transmissions and electric hybrid propulsion systems for commercial vehicles. Allison is also a leader in fully electric drive systems for commercial vehicles as well as wheeled and tracked drive systems for defense applications for the United States and it's allies around the globe. As Allison’s chief legal officer, Eric is responsible for advising Allison’s board of directors and leadership team on a variety of legal and business matters, managing Allison’s legal affairs and overseeing the company’s Government Relations, Export Compliance, Internal Audit and ESG organizations. As a member of Allison’s executive committee, Eric helped guide the Allison business though its standup following a carve-out from GM to private equity sponsors, and later, an IPO on the NYSE as the sponsors exited. Eric has extensive experience advising the business and board on a wide range of of legal and regulatory matters. He is experienced in a broad array of legal areas including commercial law, corporate governance, securities, M&A, litigation, employment, intellectual property and a variety of global compliance matters including cyber security, privacy, antitrust, environmental, FCPA, emission/fuel economy regulations, investigations and enforcement. A thought leader and practical legal advisor, Eric has a reputation for collaboration, cross-functional partnering and building strong teams. Prior to joining Allison, Mr. Scroggins served as General Counsel for Product Action International LLC and as an attorney with the law firm of Ice Miller LLP. Mr. Scroggins also worked for the State of Indiana, serving in a variety of roles with the Indiana State Personnel Department, including Deputy Director of the agency.
