• Manage & develop a group of 7-9 OSP Engineers for FTTX deployment (including engineering for SMB/Enterprise, MDUs, SFUs, cabinet placements, backbone designs, etc) in the San Diego area.• Manage end-to-end project plans for network deployment projects from evaluation through approval, design/engineering, permitting, construction and installation.• Communicate effectively with various teams (internal & external), including Deployment, Network Ops, Customer Service, Construction, municipalities, vendors, etc) involved in the FTTX process.• Identify roadblocks, recommend solutions, forecast, track & report on results to upper management.• Interview, hire, develop & mentor young OSP Engineers in a manner that allows them to focus on career development & personal growth while coaching them to achieve company goals & objectives.• In my time as Engineering Manager, multiple engineers have been promoted while there have been zero resignations. • From mid-2022 - 2023, our group was responsible for designing & managing the following: 266 completed UG/AR fiber placement projects (MDU, SMB/Enterprise, SFU)  50,164 service ready residential passings & 274 service ready enterprise passings.  440 approved permits (City of San Diego, SD County, MTS, SDGE, ATT, CalTrans, Chula Vista, etc).  Cabinet placements & backbone fiber in Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, National City & El Cajon.

•Design, engineer & manage the tw telecom/Level 3/Centurylink/Lumen fiber network for building entries (including outside plant and inside wiring), network expansions, fiber relocates, building augments, etc.•Coordinate & manage multiple projects simultaneously and in their entirety, from design to project completion, including: Cost estimating  Updating records systemsCreating budgets, writing purchase agreements, creating purchase orders, etc.Designing & Managing all splicing (outside plant and inside plant)Overall project design  Negotiating contractor/vendor pricingCoordinating floor space & right-of-entry with building owner/property manager  Performing final inspections on completed workOrdering materials  Approving invoicesAcquiring necessary permits (city, county, CalTrans, etc) Managing contractors & overseeing construction•Responsible for coordinating all emergency work (24 hours per day, 7 days per week) •Member of Underground Utility Conversion Committee – work with City of San Diego, AT&T, SDG&E, etc to underground existing aerial facilities throughout San Diego.•Projects managed have resulted in greater than 98% on-time customer completion dates.

- Manage the quality assurance group for the as-built phase of the fiber to the home initiative taking place in various markets across the country.- Lead a team that ensures as-built documentation (splice sheets, as-builts, redlines, etc) match the GIS system records – communicate issues and ensure all records are corrected, and comply with customer architecture design guidelines.- Update and maintain inventory databases in addition to all other tools which track site, network, and fiber information.- Manage proposals, bids, scope definition, QC cycles and design review and approvals for a fiber to the home network.- Lead Quality Control Central team – responsible for quality checks on construction completed in field and ensure the completed product meets customer standards/architecture guidelines.- Work & coordinate with various customer markets and vendors across the country to communicate issues, timelines, etc, and ensure customer deadlines are met.

•Served in various roles ranging from sales support (proposal development), project management & client relations, to contractor pricing negotiations, cost analysis, and sub-contractor management.•Negotiated costs with domestic and international contractors in order to lower overall project costs on a per-project basis allowing for an increase in profit margin by 9% from 2005 to 2006.•Scheduled and coordinated fielding (data collection) with domestic and international contractors for projects ranging in revenue from $2,500-$1,000,000.•Developed and streamlined processes for proposal development (the process in which the company bid on projects to potential clients); composed each proposal sent to clients from April 2005-Nov 2007. •Increased the percentage of proposals won from 40% in 2004-2005 to over 60% in 2006-2007.

•Served in various design-engineering roles of increasing responsibility including designing of T1 Circuits (Hicaps), designing of cell sites, and placement of loop electronics equipment.•Served as a point of contact and assisted in managing & coordinating various groups within SBC, including construction crews, testing centers, sales consultants, etc. •Assisted in creating & implementing new processes to streamline the design of T1 circuits, which contributed greatly to an increase in production and efficiency.•Managed budgeting decisions up to $25,000 per T1 service order (roughly 40-50 orders per month).•Received maximum possible team award 4 years in a row for excellent teamwork—2001-2004.•Orchestrated the successful handling of over 1,500 service orders for years 2001-2005 with > 99% on time delivery rate.
