The Director of Production and Quality has ultimate responsibility for purchasing, production, material handling, manufacturing engineering, quality, and customer service/repair.Develop and execute operations, supply chain and quality strategies to meet the needs of the site. This requires the DPQ to schedule production and work with the supply chain and quality functions to manufacture customer orders in a timely, cost effective and high quality manner. One the of key responsibilities of the DPQ is to forecast short and long range capital requirements and expense budgets based on production, growth, cash flow and the site's overall strategic plan. This includes the development, control, and maintenance of capital and expense budgets for all facility related activities consisting of utilities and services, internal and external facility modifications; machinery, equipment, and building maintenance, manufacturing, process, and environmental improvements; direct and indirect labor

• Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001 registration, ITAR/EAR export control and environmental compliance• Responsible for providing quality support and input during design reviews for new product development• Facilitate Lean and Kaizen Events with the Cell Leaders and Assemblers to reduce waste and improve process flow• Worked closely with Production and Engineering on process and product improvements that resulted in a 62% reduction in customer returns (in-warranty) from FY 2008 to FY 2010• Awarded the Raytheon 5 Star Quality Award in 2010 and 2011 • Developed and built automated test systems to reduce overall test time and improve the final acceptance test process of outgoing products• Created a "Quick Setup Guide" for each of our main product families to help customers connect to and operate our products

• P&L responsible for our joint venture in Sungai Petani Malaysia (Wells Eastern Asia Displays)• Spent six months in Malaysia setting up our joint venture operations• Supervise the Factory Manager and his staff and coordinate the efforts of the Engineering departments in Chicago and Malaysia • Acted as a Project Manager to oversee the introduction of seven new products to the joint venture• Provided the production schedule and sales forecasts for the joint venture• Responsible for overseeing Incoming Inspection, reliability testing, supplier improvement programs, ISO 9001 registration and Line Auditing in a traditional assembly line manufacturing plant • Reduced the first pass WIP reject rate by 48% in just over 18 months• Reduced in-warranty customer returns by 60% from 1997 to 2000, allowing the Service Department to reduce the number of Service Technicians needed from 12 to 9, representing a savings of approximately $170K in salaries and benefits • Perform life testing and provide reliability data to Engineering for new product development and release to market• Setup a networked quality database system to improve data collection that was then used to reduce sample sizes without adversely affecting the WIP reject rate or customer return rate
