A university graduated mechanical engineer by training, Eric has specialised and practised in the engineering sector for most of his career. In the early stages of his career he developed the core skills required to become a design engineer and project manager in the construction industry. In time he developed a keen interest in business and utilised the available opportunities to develop the required levels of business acumen. His capabilities were recognised and over a number of years various employers entrusted him with establishing and growing business units where he further developed his management and leadership skills. More recently he has been entrusted with leading the Cape Town Operations for a leading international engineering company. During the past two years Eric had to integrate and transform the business from a purely consulting business to an engineering company that can do consulting assignments as well as successfully execute medium to large projects in a project delivery model. This involved re-engineering of the organisational structure, introducing new skills to the business, changing the methodology of executing projects and introducing appropriate levels of corporate governance into the business. To be successful, Eric had to sell the execution model to the management structure and lead the internal change process. This required considerable people skill and tenacity while building trust with his direct reports and the company EXCO. Left WorleyParsons in December 2014 to start own Consulting Engineering business. In January 2015 joined Stac Consulting Engineers to establish Mechanical Engineering Division.
