The re-developed system is .NET based (C#) and employs modern software development idioms including inversion of control, object-relational mapping, unit testing with mocking as well as aspect orientation.Led the development of the first fully-automated build system within the Alexander Forbes group, back-ended by Team Foundation Server.

Co-owner of an IT services company with target market: small-to-medium-sized companies. Responsible for the technical and operational side of the business, including: hands-on administration of Linux-based firewalls, file-servers, email servers and open-source databases, network administration, backup administration, development of company products, general administration and company strategy.

Led the electronic communications team within Discovery Health to produce the first bulk emailing system for the company. Collaborated with other systems architects within the Internet services division to implement an automated build system using Ant and StarTeam as the backing VCS.

Investigated, sourced and contributed to the implementation of an e-Procurement product for a large multinational electronics distribution company; this project involved working in the USA. Assisted with solution architectures and implementations of solutions based on the ATG Dynamo Java-based application server for various Dimension Data customers.
