As the Manager of the Fayette Trails Coalition, I play a pivotal role in developing, promoting, and maintaining a network of trails in Fayette County. My responsibilities include:Trail Development and Maintenance: Oversee the planning, development, and maintenance of trails. This involves coordination with local agencies, stakeholders, and volunteers to ensure trails are safe, accessible, and enjoyable.Community Engagement and Education: Actively engage with the community to promote trail use and environmental stewardship. This includes organizing educational programs, workshops, and events that highlight the importance of sustainable trail use and environmental conservation.Collaboration with Local Organizations: Collaborate with local organizations, government bodies, and environmental groups to drive initiatives that support the growth and sustainability of the trail network.Advocacy and Fundraising: Advocate for the trails and secure funding through grants, donations, and partnerships. Work towards ensuring the financial sustainability of the trails, enabling continuous improvement and expansion.Event Management: Plan and execute community events related to trail activities, which serve to increase community involvement and awareness of the Fayette Trails Coalition’s efforts.Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the overall goals of the National Road Heritage Corridor, ensuring the Fayette Trails Coalition contributes to the broader vision of preserving and enhancing cultural and natural heritage.This role allows me to combine my passion for environmental education and community development with my expertise in program management, creating a positive impact on Fayette County’s natural landscapes and cultural heritage.
