Oversaw maintaining, managing, upgrading, and replacing Graycon’s internal IT systems. This involved working with technologies such as:- VMware and Hyper-V hypervisors.- Storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and Local Server storage.- Windows Server 2003-2016 including AD, NPS, ADFS for O365 and SAML based SSO, File, Print, internal CAs, and IIS.- MS SQL 2005-2017.- Exchange 2013-2016 including O365 hybrid and standalone setups.- Imaging with WDS and MDT.- Backup products such as Veeam, Backup Exec, Avepoint, and Barracuda.- Building, maintaining and improving RMM tools such as Kaseya.- Building automation with PowerShell to improve efficiency and consistency.Achievements:Reduced Graycon’s physical infrastructure by virtualizing it, replacing it with more converged solutions, or removing it if it wasn’t in use. This resulted in clearing up 50% of the available rack space, a reduction of the infrastructure footprint by 30%, an estimated 15-20k of energy savings per year, and considerably reduced maintenance requirements.Migrated the core infrastructure from a 2003 AD environment to 2012 R2. This included migrating AD certificate services, setting up DHCP failover in the new environment, and migrating AD replication from FRS to DFS.Implemented ADFS and SAML based SSO for all available services resulting in a more seamless login experience for all users in many of the line of business apps and tools that they use on a daily basis.Replaced the aging wired and wireless network infrastructure resulting in proper segregation of the network for improved security and increased performance across the network. This also greatly improved the wireless experience, including eliminating dead spots, giving users a better roaming experience, and the cert based wireless authentication now allows for seamless pre-logon connections for domain joined devices.
