While operating our organic farm in Cambridge, we began tapping maple trees on our property in 2009 and quickly grew to be one of the largest producers of bulk maple syrup in the country. By 2016, we decided to move into the retail market and launched Runamok to take maple places it had never been before.The initial response from retailers and press was extraordinary and sales grew exponentially. The company quickly outgrew our sugarhouse and moved manufacturing to a 55,000 sq. ft. former-Scrabble-tile factory in Fairfax, Vt. We've expanded beyond maple syrup to cocktail mixers, bitters, and a line of premium U.S.-sourced honey. Throughout our growth we've worked hard to honor our commitment to environmental stewardship, corporate responsibility, and commitment to our team – as well as producing innovative, beautifully-designed specialty food products with the highest quality ingredients. I now serve as CEO of Thunder Basin Maple Works and Runamok – sibling organizations that manage 125,000+ maple taps, employ over 75 full-time employees, and retail in stores across the entire US and internationally.
