My Construction Background:Construction has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, from running heavy equipment crews in the sandbox as a young kid, to visiting construction sites on the weekend with my father, working summers at AHRS Construction's shop after 6th grade and on jobsite crews after 9th grade, through college earning a Construction Science & Management degree, then on to stints with a couple large general contractors and eventually back to AHRS in 2012 with a role in the family business. Why I Chose Construction:I've always enjoyed building things and seeing how the parts & pieces come together. It was the same when playing with Construx and Legos as a kid, to hammering nails and pouring concrete on the jobsite, to scheduling and managing projects from the office and back full circle to helping my sons build with Mega Bloks. I enjoy driving around the local communities and seeing facilities we have built and knowing the details of how it came together - the architect that designed it, the team that put it together, the challenges (opportunities!) along the way and feeling of accomplishment when it was complete. It's very rewarding!Evolution of AHRS Construction:In a similar way I've enjoyed seeing AHRS Construction evolve from a small company with a few determined young guys doing residential and agricultural work into a full service general contractor and construction manager capable of building anything in our region including schools, healthcare facilities, aquatic centers, churches, banks, jails, offices, manufacturing facilities and more. We are constantly learning and evolving as a company as the industry progresses.
