Assist the Chief of the UNV Office in NY in assessing policy and strategy developments that have implications for UNV, notably in the area of youth and development;Assist in maintaining close contact with the UNV's constituency in intergovernmental (including UNDP and other UN agencies), non government and private sector and build on existing areas of collaboration;Assist, where requested, UNV HQ staff negotiate new partnerships;Attend on behalf of UNV, inter-governmental, inter-agency and other meetingsand tasks forces of direct relevance to UNV and prepare reports;Contribute to the organization of discussions, briefings, and seminars on UNV within UNDP, the UN as well as outside the UN, with the view to raising UNV's profileIdentify and connect new partner organizations and explore opportunities forpartnerships with the UNV supported programmes;Assist in advocating for UNV's role in the promotion of volunteerism and development.

Assist with the Coordination of Staff training (DSA, OTR) within and outsidethe duty station;Manage the attendance and leave recording of staff members;Draft internal reports and work on Special Leave with full pay requests

Serve as focal point for follow-up on decisions and actions agreed to at theweekly meetings on Strategic Workforce PlanningAssist with the consolidation and analysis of the current posts and workforce data and pilots departments, and development of projected staff gap analysismethodology;Assist with the analysis of documentation on projected human resources requirements and the preparation of the relevant synopsis.

Follow-up of the Youth Leader Summit organized by this office in New York inOctober 2006Assist in the preparation of the meeting of the Council of MentorsEnglish/French translations of important documents and communications andassist in drafting talking points for presentations and interviews.
