Programming Director:Handled reporting of daily schedules to Nielsen for overnight adjustments. Handled sending/creating of weekly programming schedules and mailing/faxing them to 30 companies (TV Guides, Cable Systems, Nielsen’s, etc). Reported changes to past-delivered weeks for proper schedule printing. Directly involved in decisions concerning future airings of movies, show, specials, etc. Served as mediator between Operations, Production, Sales, and other departments in programming matters. As chief (usually sole) contact for Nielsen Company and for the Cycle - Sat. Company, which provided 60% of our national commercials, was responsible for their quality-checking.Traffic Manager:Responsible for commercial placement of various spots and their lengths as well as P.S.A.’s, promos, etc. The “Darts” system was used for Traffic operation until May 1996, when the Hearst Corporation assumed ownership. At that point all Traffic operations went to the “Bias” format. and other duties added were maintaining communications between sales staff and advertising clients.Satellite Coordinator:Handled scheduling, charting, and placing of over 200 feeds per week, varying from barter films to weekday programs to special live programming. Sole contact for WWWB concerning information retrieval on all feeds with uplinks and syndicators. Served as trouble-shooter (i.e., missing and/or problem feeds in direct connection with Operations Department and up-links for such). Supervised ordering of all in-house cash program masters to find their syndicators, order programs, and dump them to (usually) Beta SP format from a l-inch format. Master Control Operator:Responsible for on-air programs and various commercials. Production Assistant. Responsible for editing films for content and commercial break placement, re-creating / tagging promotional spots, i.e.: promos, P.S.A.’s, etc. Served as cameraman/on-air talent as well.
