Automating and standardizing the workflow for biopharmaceutical manufacture and cell therapy medicine. Our AmberGlass stabilization and delivery technology provides a means of reimagining how to standardize processes and QC analytics.

Led the development of an automated cartridge based flow cytometric system. Directed the design and implementation of vitrified reagents in a microfluidic chip to produce a fully integrated room temperature stable consumable. Directed and engineered the pilot production line for manufacturing.

Custom development of both small molecule and novel caged enzymatic reporters enabling tunable cascade amplification of assay systems to achieve unprecedented sensitivity and limit of detection.

Lead developer and scientist. Directed a team of engineers in the development of many new assay systems and instrumentation focused on the rapid detection of microbial contamination and pathogens.- Developed a portable cartridge based microarray assay system as part of a NASA Astrobiology - European Space Agency collaboration. Demonstrated successful in-field testing of the system during the AMASE NASA expedition to a Mars analog testing site in Svalbard, Norway.- Developed a portable cartridge based fluorescence reader under a US Air Force Department of Defense grant for rapid in the field detection of biological warfare agents. Successfully implemented an aptamer bead based assay platform for a rapid mix and read cartridge format.- Facilitated the early development of the Nexgen-PTS cartridge and system for endotoxin and beta-glucan testing via the LAL cascade.- Developed a three color solid phase cytometric instrument in collaboration with ReaMetrix Inc for the rapid detection of viable single cell microbes in aqueous samples. Designed and patented several novel fluorescence reporters and assay systems as well as the sample capture consumables to be used with the cytometer.- Developed materials and methods for in situ viable cell directed precipitation of metal nanoparticles for surface enhanced Raman (SERS) identification of microbial contaminants.
