I am an engineer on the particle engineering team in the R&D department at MannKind Corporation. I am responsible for designing and executing experiments (DoEs) and interpreting results from studies to optimize formulations and manufacturing processes for new drug products.
Engineer Ii
As a Particle Engineer at Pulmatrix, I am a key contributor to the nanomilling, spray drying, and capsule filling processes across several programs at different stages of development (pre-clinical through phase 2). I support technical transfers and scale up of drug product manufacturing processes at contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs). I also design experiments using JMP statistical analysis software to nominate process conditions and drug product formulations for products at various stages of development. I am a co-inventor of the PUR3100 inhaled dihydroergotamine drug product being investigated for the treatment of acute migraine. My contributions include developing and screening multiple drug formulations via multiple manufacturing methods such as spray drying, media milling, and jet milling. I have also designed several experiments (DoEs) to optimize excipient ratios in the formulation and manufacturing process parameters.

I contributed to research at WPI in the field of Biofuels. Specifically, I worked with other students, professors, and fellows from WPI and MIT on a novel system for producing and purifying butanol. My contributions to this project include operating a supercritical fluid extractor to determine the efficiency of purifying butanol from fermentation broth, as well as suggesting modifications to the design of the fermenter and supercritical fluid extractor to improve their effectiveness. I also derived empirical models to scale up the system from laboratory to industrial scale.
