Quote preparation: understanding customer needs, preparing specifications for and liaising with fabricators, installers, suppliers and internal supply chain. Undertaking price and offer comparison.• Tender submission: writing tender submissions, including compiling contributions from other engineers and working with legal and accounting departments to finalise commercial and contractual components.• Design: hygienic design, usability and ergonomics, hazardous chemicals, P&ID drawings, 3D model review, equipment selection, steam pipeline layout and design.• HAZOP and design reviews.• Functional description review and plant simulation.• Purchasing and procurement of equipment and labour.• Plant commissioning: I/O checking, instrument setup, line flushing, CIP validation and product trials. Specific experience in vacuum mixers, CIP sets, batching equipment, milk reception, chemical installations and material handling.• Project closeout: defect resolution, customer training and customer manual compilation• Project implementation: Timeline and critical path analysis, contractor and procurement management, project health and safety, permits to work, job task analysis, budget and variation control.

As a project engineer at BOC, I was responsible for leading multiple projects simultaneously, across New Zealand; including quoting, project implementation, commissioning, training and customer handover.I developed strengths in designing, installing and commissioning equipment across industries as diverse as food freezing, fabrication workshops and hospitals, supplying industrial gases including liquid nitrogen and carbon dioxide, inert gases, oxygen, hydrogen and LPG.Over the three years with BOC I gained valuable experience in hazardous and flammable chemicals, compliance with local legislation regarding chemical storage, seismic requirements and equipment pressure rating.
