Responsible for management of Darran furniture’s shipping team and carrier relationships.

Responsible for directing the daily performance of the Distribution area consisting of an average of 25 multinational team members with potential of 40 at peak season including contract labor. Overall accountability for packing, accessories areas for frame component creation and assembly, and final shipment of both core business and contracted fulfillment orders. As the final stages of the order fulfillment cycle, I am entrusted to make sure the team is well versed in accurately producing, packing and shipping of customer’s orders. Daily responsibilities include staffing to meet anticipated production output while maintaining labor costs, review of Key Performance Indicators for previous work day performance to address any changes in weekly plan as well as insuring that all quality requirements were met. In addition, I am actively involved in hiring, promotion and disciplinary counseling suggestions. Work closely with all production areas to meet required performance output as well as company quality and process improvement goals. I have been actively involved in lean process improvement of my areas of responsibility and automation implementation to improve employee performance and reduce associated labor costs.Conducting performance coaching and evaluation of employee performance are an ongoing part of my leadership responsibilities. Further entrusted with closing the production facility at the end of the day and securing the building.

Promoted to a newly created assistant supervisor position within Operations based upon exemplary work performance and knowledge. Was recognized as a candidate for Supervisory promotion on multiple occasions and provided this opportunity to develop leadership skills. Supported all functions of Distribution areas that I had supported as a lead. Responsible for training and addressing quality and production concerns without the ability to provide counseling and corrective actions.

Responsible for supporting the daily performance of the packing area consisting of thirteen associates under the direction of a Distribution Supervisor. Areas of focus consist of insuring orders are sent out in a timely manner while meeting quality standards. Responsible for auditing employee’s work as well as giving feedback on production and quality measurements. Accountable for training of all packers on established procedures and methods for various product assortments and client requirements. Responsible for preparing palletized shipments for freight and large order contracts as requested by supervisor or manager. Responsible for running peak season second shift operations in absence of supervisor in Q4 of 2014. Recognized at annual awards meeting as an Unsung Hero for 4th Quarter of 2014 for contributions to success. Promoted to assistant Supervisor.

Responsible for supporting the daily shipments of core business as well as fulfillment partners. Providing oversight to five shippers under the direction of the Distribution Supervisor. Successfully contributed to the shipment of over 1000 packages per day on a normal work volume load (exceeded 3000 packages during peak season). Duties include making sure proper ship methods and billing procedures were followed. Given the responsibility to insure “best cost-effective methods” were followed to reduce costs to company in shipping expense. Responsible for coordinating the training of new shippers and accountable for all shipping protocols. Promoted to Packing Lead.

Responsible for supporting a staff of five associates to provide internal components for core business and fulfillment party orders. Knowledge of accessory equipment and products were required and included mat cutters, acrylic cutters, glass and mirror cutters, and panel saws for cutting board substrates (chalkboard, blackboard, Masonite). Knowledge of component assembly was required to assist other departments in finalizing orders for production and/or final shipment. Promoted to Shipping Lead.

Promoted to Accessory Lead.Canvas substrate sprayer and quality checker (in conjunction with my shipping responsibilities)Responsible for spraying canvases with proper coatings as well as inspecting for quality and durability. This duty was assigned based upon efficiency in shipping and kept company from having to hire another person to do the job.

Hired as a part-time associate to pick pre-assembled products for packing area. This position required knowledge of product assortment that accompanied custom orders. This required a quick learning of the Operations business rules and merchandise. Due to my quick learning curve, I was converted to a full-time associated based upon performance within a few weeks. Promoted to shipper.
