The Human Resource Department is responsible to support over 300 employees. The HR team is made of a Director of Payroll and Benefits, Human Resource Specialist (responsible for recruitment and retention), Director of Training, and a Human Resource assistant. Our focus is to ensure we provide a positive work environment for all employees, which allows the people we support to grow and achieve what is important to them. In my 30 years plus tenure here at EP!C I have advanced in the organization:August 2004 to February 2013 - VP of Community Living ServicesOversee 21 group homes, 16 Host Family sites, 2 Apartment complexes that serves approximately 160 individuals with intellectual disabilities. Directly supervised the Director of Nursing, Community Living Director, Community Options Director, Program Director, and Case Worker. Total employees in the department around 150 employees. ($6,000,000.00 annual budget ). Promoted to Senior VP of HR1998 to 2004 - Residential Service Director / Director of Quality AssuranceAs the Residential Director I Supervised 12 group homes. 8 homes funded by Illinois Department of Human Services and 4 homes funded by Illinois Department of Public Health. Directly supervised Group Home Managers, Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional, and nurses and as the Director of QA, I implemented systems to ensure compliance with Illinois Department of Human Services and Illinois Department of Public Health rules and regulations. Assist the Vice President of Residential Services. Promoted to VP of Community Living Services 1987 to 1998 - I started my career at Barbara Smiley Living Center as a Director Service Person. I moved up the organization as becoming the Activity Director (1988-1990), In 1990 I was promoted to Assistant Administrator until I became the Administrator in 1994. Administrator of a 56 bed Intermediate Care Facility. I supervised the program, nursing, dietary, housekeeping, and maintenance departments.
