I have been an educator for 34 years. I began as an English teacher from 1987-1997 and then moved full time to Social Sciences. I taught British Literature, World Literature, and Composition while teaching English. In Social Sciences I have taught Psychology, Sociology, United States History, AP United States History, Civics, Ancient World History, Modern World History, and Illinois Studies--which incorporates Local History. I taught one year at Pleasant Plains Unit District and I have taught 31 years at Pontiac High School District 90 in Pontiac, Illinois. I became Department Chair of Social Sciences in 2007 at Pontiac. I have been very honored to serve in this role for the district and was an active participant in the hiring of five members of the department.I have accepted the nomination as a member of Presidential Who's Who Among Business and Professional Achievement for 2009-2010 and again in 2012. I have extensively worked with the Livingston County War Museum on a variety of projects. I was also proud to serve the district in the planning and implementation of the district's first WWII Symposium as well as serving as the Moderator for the event--as well as five other symposiums including The Korean War and Vietnam. My specialties include: Psychology, Illinois History, Popular Culture, Writing, Research, The Study Of Social Trends, and United States History.Recently, I have had a renewed interest in Religious History. I live in Normal, Illinois with my beautiful wife Jennifer. Jennifer works with Pioneer Farm Business, Farm Management--a company created by the University of Illinois Extension for filing taxes for local Farmers throughout the state. After I retire, I hope to work with a college or university and write a book about popular culture and/or Illinois History.
