Spearheaded the design of a blending process, storage vessels, pumps, and piping that meet all FDA requirements for topical pharmaceutical handling and OSHA/NFPA requirements for flammable liquid handling. Worked with engineering consultants and city inspectors to design a permitted facility (with hazardous material occupancy) for a wide range of chemical blending and storage demands. Currently acting as the general contractor for the facility build, leading licensed subcontractors (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinkler and alarm, roofing, concrete, steel fabrication, and process automation) in executing the design according to our building and operating permits.

Co-founder of an engineering consulting firm that specializes in rapid prototyping of innovative waste management processes, including municipal sludge removal and treatment, waste tire gasification, and passive salinity reduction via activated filtration. Responsible for project management, technical documentation, and board leadership. Secretary duties included incorporating the business, accounting and filing taxes, and maintaining state-required documents such as share transfer records and meeting minutes.

Assistant to inventor Russel Gehrke on a variety of engineering projects. Led teams of volunteers in manual construction, and interacted directly with clients and sponsors. Sketched and quoted standardized designs for community and residential tornado shelters, and assisted with forming the EFJoplin business model. Devised and performed the necessary calculations for the impact lab, and helped design the lab testing process (a motorcycle projecting metal pipe at 100+ mph to simulate tornado impacts). Gained skills in craft and construction and exposure to consulting. Inactively an engineering advisor to the startup, EFJoplin, a division of Real Greenius, LLC.

Synthesized and tested macroporous silicon materials for lithium-ion batteries. Designed and conducted experiments to optimize porous silicon etching. Assembled battery test cells and program charge-discharge cycles to show performance. Presented research progress to researchers from Lockheed Martin biweekly. Developed and tested new techniques for copper deposition on bulk and porous silicon, drafting a patent disclosure regarding the technology.
